1. What we collect
On the Tynkr platform: We may collect your name, email address, company name, account credentials, billing information, usage activity, and device data when you create an account or use our services.
Through the Tynkr Recorder Chrome Extension: When you actively start a recording session, the extension captures:
- URLs visited - the pages you navigate to during the recording
- User interactions - clicks, keyboard shortcuts, dropdown selections, and checkbox states
- Form field values - text you type into non-password fields (e.g. usernames, search terms)
- Element metadata - labels, placeholder text, and CSS selectors used to identify page elements for test generation
The extension does not collect:
- Passwords or any field marked as type="password" - these are detected and never recorded
- Any data outside of an active recording session
- Browsing activity when you have not clicked "Start Recording"
2. How we use it
We use collected information to:
- Operate the Tynkr platform and generate automated test workflows from your recordings
- Authenticate users and process transactions
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Improve product performance and features
- Maintain security and prevent fraud
Recorded interaction data sent from the extension is used exclusively to generate the test workflow you requested. It is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
3. How data is stored and transmitted
Extension local storage: Your API key is stored only in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) and is never synced to external servers or your Google account.
Workflow data: When you click "Create Tynkr Workflow", the recorded steps are transmitted over HTTPS to Tynkr's servers and associated with your account to generate a test workflow.
Retention: Recorded session data is retained as part of your workflow history. You may delete workflows at any time from your Tynkr account.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data only when necessary to:
- Deliver our services through trusted third-party providers (hosting, analytics, authentication, payments)
- Comply with legal obligations or valid legal process
- Enforce our Terms of Service
- Protect the security of Tynkr and our users
5. Data protection
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your data. All data transmission between the extension and Tynkr servers uses HTTPS encryption. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure.
6. Your choices
- You control when the extension records - it only captures data during an active session you start manually.
- You can clear all recorded steps before sending them using the trash icon in the extension.
- You can delete your account and associated data by contacting us at support@tynkr.co.
